as a touring photographer, my goal is to document life. five years ago, i started playing with the idea of capturing the audio around me, around the world.. not just the visual things. this project soon became a space for me to respond to the crushing nostalgia and the love i feel when hearing rain fall onto a leaf, a truck drive through the fog, or the ripple of water on a warm evening at the lake.
this ambient track is the (sort of) follow-up partner to my first photo book "nobody's guide to life on the road" - where i explored this concept but through photography and short handwritten phrases to trigger memories and moments on tour i didn't want to forget
being constantly on the move - this has been a way for me to reflect on the simplest moments in life. hope you enjoy as we move into nostalgia season
----------
fun fact: in the middle of the track you hear people talking at a pizza truck in a park in glasgow. at one point the couple is talking about photography. which felt fateful.
fun fact: the voice memos featured throughout the track are stacked on top of each other. can ya hear them all individually???
fun fact: this experiment was originally called "gas station love letter #10"which referenced my first photography book "nobody's guide to life on the road". the last chapter was titled "entry 9: love"
